Far from very (too) bulky and frilly bridesmaid or prom dresses, organza has had a makeover and is back in the spotlight. We tell you a little more about this tendency not to miss.
What is organza?
Organza is a fabric originating from India, traditionally made from silk fibers. We find today synthetic organza, cheaper and easier to maintain, but a little less pleasant on the skin. It is a rather rigid, transparent, and above all voluminous fabric. Not to be confused with organdy, another very similar fabric but woven differently.
Why do we love organza?
Despite the bad memories we may have of it (the meringue option bridesmaid dresses), organza is making an unexpected comeback and is downright on the way to becoming our darling, but why this reversal?
Already because used sparingly and in good taste, the volume can be very interesting on a silhouette. Then because organza sheer allows you to create really fun layering games. And finally because its silky appearance gives a touch of chic to all outfits. In short, you can do a lot of great things with it, you’ll see!
Which pieces to choose to wear organza well?
You suspect it, you can’t do just anything with a material like organza. Here are our shopping tips for wearing organza.
On the sleeves of a blouse
Probably the easiest optionthe blouse with organza sleeves is a simply perfect piece. We advise you to opt for black and avoid plunging necklines. We wear blouse with organza sleeves like a classic blouse. For a dressier version, opt for palazzo pants and a pair of heels.
The organza blouse
More difficult to assume since fully transparent, the organza blouse is however a very sensual piece and can be very elegant. We advise you to opt for a bralette underneath, and to associate it with a midi skirt for a sexy outfit. The white shirt remains our favorite because it is so romantic.
If you want to break this femme fatale side, wear the organza blouse under overalls or a pinafore dress, it will be perfect.
The dress with organza sleeves
nothing complicated, it is worn like a classic dress ! Opt for a simple, straight or slightly flared cut, avoid necklines and favor sober colors for a more sober look.
The organza dress
Sublime for a wedding outfit or a dressy occasion, the dress entirely in organza is an original and very trendy option. Opt for a model with lining (obviously) and for a midi or long cut.
